Captain Mary Spencer WIP: Hat

Ha ha! I finally finished a piece of this costume- I've got lots of pieces in the works, but I had yet to finish any of them until last night. It was a struggle, but I'm happy with the result. It looks exactly how I wanted it to, although it cannot actually be worn. It was my first hat, though, so I figure that's pretty good!

Anywho, the details:
-Hat made by me in my costuming class with a wool felt hatbody from Hats by Leko.
-Details on both the hat and belt are painted on in Liquitex acrylic paints.
-Unfinished belt from Tandy Leather Factory, belt buckle from Jas. Townsend & Son, Inc.
-I couldn't find a tassel I liked, so I made one with cotton perle thread, some fabric glue, and a couple of beads.

[EDIT: OH ALSO, to give people a good idea of why stuff like this often costs so much: The supplies for this hat alone cost me in the neighborhood of $60. If I were making it for someone else instead of for myself, I would have to make a profit. Artisans often charge between 2-4 times the price of materials for their work, depending on difficulty. This hat was extremely difficult to make and very time-consuming, so I'd probably charge at least 3 or 4 times the cost of materials. That's $180-240. So would I make you this hat? Sure, if you paid me $200.)
