Common Barn Owl plush version 2.0! It was sold as a set with the a moleskine journal I illustrated at a silent auction to benefit the WSU Raptor Club. The plushie is loosely based on Widget, a bird that I work with. The legs and wings are partially wired so he is somewhat poseable, but it is a display piece and would not stand up to much wear and tear.

A tutorial for the plushie can be found here -->

This tutorial is free for you to use, so long as you you credit me (even if you modify it!).

There have been a few modifications from the original (he's taller, the wings were done differently and the proportions fixed a bit, the tail is a bit different, I fixed a problem I had with the eyes pulling on the back of the head, and a few minor other details), and although I'm still not 100% satisfied with it, he turned out very cute in his own distinctive way!

Okay, this is the little tester owl i made. He's small, but i just wanted to test out the pattern get a feel for it before i made a big one :P You can tell how small he is by the fact he's got regular sized shirt buttons for eyes. But yea, the tutorial is amazing the pattern worked very well, and i enjoyed making this little guy! TY so much, will update when I make the actual one. :D

Very cute! I'm glad it's going well. How big are you going to make the final one?

Whatever you get, I suggest you avoid anything stretchy- it's a pain to work with and tends to turn out a little funny. In any case, I think a big squishy owl would be so much fun to have around!

Thank you! If it hadn't been sold already I might try that (although it'd have to be magpies!).
